Design and Build
What makes this Straight Outta Compton headphone better than the previous Studio Wireless version is its cool design. From the box, you get to see the Straight Outta Compton logo. Unboxing it, you get a wireless headphone with the movie’s title at the top of the headband.
The outer part of the headband and the ear cups are colored black. But unlike the regular black Studio Wireless headphones, the inner headband of this version is colored white, blending with the movie’s title font colors.
It’s still made from premium materials, and the buttons are still placed on the left ear cup. The central button with the Beats logo can multi-task as play/pause button (one tap), skip to the next track (two taps), and go back to the previous track (3 taps). Also housed on that ear cup, are the volume controls found above and under the central button.
Enjoy nothing but the best of its audio performance! Equipped within the headphone is an improved digital signal processor (DSP) that goes hand in hand with the Beats Acoustic Engine technology. The bass response will make you go thumping with the upbeat songs. It allows you to listen to your favorite artists’ songs the way you want it.
Active Noise Cancelling (ANC)
Whenever you need a “me time,” use this headphone as it has an active noise cancellation with two modes. One mode balances the music playing and the ambient noise. The other ANC mode is a complete shut down from the world. No noise can be heard in this mode. If you need serenity against the chaotic environment, use the ANC-only mode.
For a wireless music entertainment, use the Bluetooth connection integrated into the headphone. Turn on your phone’s Bluetooth connection and pair it with the speaker. Once it’s paired, you can already enjoy seamless audio enjoyment.
Beats didn’t settle in giving you the best headphones. They also packed their headphones with extra features.
Upon opening the box, you get two audio cables where one is with remote controls while the other doesn’t have any. Other extras include a carabineer clip, a hard-shelled carrying case and a power adapter (which you don’t usually get in other headphones).
Battery Life with LED indicator
Keep track of your battery’s status with the Beats Studio Wireless battery fuel gauge. The LED indicator is found in the right ear cup together with the power button. If used with an iOS device, your device will show a small battery gauge at the top.
The rechargeable battery lets you play music wirelessly for 12 hours on a single charge. When used with wires, you get 20 hours of battery life.
I loved the movie Straight Outta Compton and was inspired. For a hip hop lover like me, it’s good to find a headphone that gives you the right audio with enough bass and a great movie-inspired design. The ANC modes are perfect.
